Sandy

My adventure in radioland began at the age of 18. It was just WBHY-AM at that time. I was a senior in High School, worked an office job in the afternoons, and volunteered at the radio station on weekends. I did primarily production work, and occasionally filled in for announcers who needed to be off. When fall came, I took over the Saturday Morning Sign-On shift. With the celebration of a new year came preparations for Power 88 to make its debut to the airwaves. By March 1992 we were broadcasting the "GOOD NEWS" via contemporary Christian music along the Gulf Coast. My first go at FM radio also began then with my voice gracing the airwaves on the Sunday afternoon shift. Our 1st summer on the air I was given the opportunity to be the Morning Show Gal, which is quite amusing since I am NOT a morning person. Of course, that may explain why I was offered the chance to switch to the afternoon shift that Fall.
